TOUR DESCRIPTION

DAY 1:  CUSCO / CITY TOUR: (FROM 13:30 TO 18:30 APPROX.)

Reception at the airport and transport to the hotel.  You will have free time to rest in order to avoid altitude sickness.

In the afternoon, the tour will start with a tour of the Temple of Koricancha (the temple of Inti, the Sun God, and the principal ritual center of the Inca Empire), the Colonial Cathedral, and the impressive archeological complex of Sacsayhuaman, famous for its enormous finely carved stones. We will also visit Qenqo, (the most important mystical center during the Inca period),PucaPucara (a military control center), and Tambomachay (a water temple of Pachacuteq, the Inca responsible for the expansion of the empire).

After that, we will return to the hotel and you will have free time that night.

DAY 2:  CUSCO / SACRED VALLEY OF THE INCAS (FROM 08:45 am TO 19:00, APPROX. FULL DAY)

We will have our breakfast in the hotel, and after that,we will travel to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Once there, we will visit the archeological site of Pisaq. Then, we will arrive to Urubamba where we will stop for lunch. After lunch, we’ll visit themarvelous archeological complex of Ollantaytambo, where we’re going to see the impressive Incastructures and agricultural terracing. Finally, we’re going to visit the picturesque Andean village of Chinchero, where the royal hacienda of Tupac Inca Yupanqui is located.

Overnight in Cuzco.

DAY 3:  CUZCO – MACHUPICCHU (FROM 06:00 AM TO 21:30, APPROX. FULL DAY)

Our day will start with breakfast in the hotel.  After that, we will take the train for a full day tour of the Magical Sanctuary of Machu Picchu (112 Km. from Cuzco). Upon our arrival in AguasCalientes, we will go to Machu Picchu and visit this wonderful Inca Sanctuary also known as "The lost City of the Incas.”  You will have a guided visit of the principal structures and sights of Machu Picchu. After the visit, we will come back to AguasCalientes to take the train back to Cusco.

DAY 4: MARAS MORAY - SALT MINES OF MARAS

We will leave Cusco early by private bus and head across the "Pampa de Anta" to the small village of Chinchero. We will start our hike from this town. Along the way, we will enjoy spectacular views of the Vilcabamba mountain range and Salkantay Mountain, which is at more than 20,240 feet (6,200 mts.) above sea level. 
After approximately 3 hours, we will arrive at Maras andtour the age-old salt wells.   These salt mines were built in pre-Incan times and used during the Incan domination of the valley.

Then, we will tour Moray, which was once the site of an agricultural experimental center during the Inca occupation. After we reach Maras, we will descend to the Sacred Valley of the Incas at the village of Tarabambaand take the bus back to Cusco.
