Lima, Aug. 23. Peruvian Foreign Minister Jose Antonio Garcia Belaunde said Sunday that the Third Summit of South American-Arab Countries (ASPA) will give the region the possibility of attracting more investment capital and opening its doors to the world. Minister Garcia Belaunde noted that Peru, as the host country of the February 2011 summit, will promote integration between both blocs.
“This summit will put Peru on the spotlight once again. We are giving the region the possiblity of opening its doors to a world of great opportunities for trade, investment and culture,” Garcia Belaunde told Andina.
The minister pointed out that preparations for the summit had already began and a high-level preparatory meeting will be held in November or December to finalize details. “Everything is going well, wehope all South American and Arab leaders will attend the summit,” he said. Garcia Belaunde added that this is a unique opportunity to promote the economic, scientific and tourism potential of the country and encourage foreign visitors to increase their investments here.
