Lima, Sep. 13. International Air Transport Association (IATA) Director General and CEO, Giovanni Bisignani, on Monday described Peru as an example in improving air transport services and creating job opportunities in Latin America. “Peru is an example to follow by other nations in Latin America. It generates nearly 77.000 jobs across the country with an investment of $2.2 billion,” said the IATA Director General, after meeting with Peru’s President Alan Garcia in Lima.
Bisignani commended the work of the Peruvian government in fostering the growth of air transportation in the country. Bisignani pointed out that the civil aviation in Peru grew by almost 10 percent in 2010. “It is something we don’t see very often,” he remarked. He also highlighted the work done by the current government in building new airports and landing strips. Source. Andina.pe
