Lord of Wari treasures, currently displayed in the city of Cusco, will go through a restoration and consolidation process, said Regional Culture Director Juan Garcia. Rivas explained that once the exhibition concludes at the Regional History Museum Casa Inca Garcilaso on March 31, valuable artifacts will be analyzed by experts on conservation laboratories in Cusco. Garcia said there is a commitment to return Lord of Wari treasures to the archaeological site of “Espiritu Pampa” in the Andean district of Vilcabamba, Cusco. Nowadays, there is no museum in the site capable to ensure the safety of those artifacts and the approach road is in very poor condition (it is a two-day trip). He recommended local authorities to undertake projects related to the above-mentioned aspects and the improvement of Espiritu Pampa archaeological complex. Initiatives that may be implemented in a long period of time though. Source: andina.pe
