The number of tourists who arrive in the Peruvian beach resort of Mancora with reservations at one of the local hotels has increased 10 percent, and especially at Las Pocitas beach. The general manager of DCO Suites Boutique Hotel, Lounge & Spa, Jacqueline Vargas, said that high-spending tourists stay in Mancora for three to seven days on average. Most of these tourists are aged between 30 and 60 years and account for 15 percent of visitors to this seaside town on the northern coast of Peru. Vargas pointed out that these figures make Mancora an exclusive, world-class tourist destination for all types of tourists because of its sandy beaches and year-round warm weather. She anticipated that this will contribute to increasing the tourists' length of stay, thus generating additional tourism revenue and investment opportunities. The hotel manager added that "Peru is a popular destination country for tourists who also visit Chile and Argentina, spending US$250 to US$500 per day, without considering transportation costs."
