Inversiones La Rioja Chairman Alfonso Brazzini said that JW Marriott Cusco which construction started three years ago over the Convento de los Agustinos in Cusco needs an investment of US$45 million.
Cusco is the only city which hosts one of the Seven Wonders of the World and which neither has a Marriott hotel nor the mentioned tour. The New Seven Wonders of the World are: The Great Wall (China), Petra (Jordan), Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), Machu Picchu (Peru), Chichen Itzá (Mexico), Roman Coliseum (Italy) and Taj Mahal (India) The hotel is being built on a 4,500 m2 area and is located one and a half block from Cusco Main Square. Marriott hotel chain plans a world tour around the New Seven Wonders of the World once it opens its JW Marriott hotel in Cusco, reported Inversiones La Rioja, the Peruvian company which builds the hotel.
