Lima, Oct. 17. With 75.60 percent of ballots counted in Lima’s mayoral elections, Fuerza Social candidate Susana Villaran received 38.55 percent of votes against 37.50 percent for Lourdes Flores, leader of PPC-UN, according to the latest report released by the National Electoral Process Office (ONPE). This new report reveals that the difference between Villaran and Flores is 0.95 percentage points or 36,740 votes. The results also showed that Restauración Nacional candidate Humberto Lay reached 8.65 percent of the votes; followed by Somos Peru’s Fernando Andrade with 4.24 percent; and Fernan Altuve of Cambio Radical with 3.65 percent. Siempre Unidos' Alex Gonzales received 3.32 percent and Gonzalo Alegria of Accion Popular obtained 2.02 percent. Finally, candidates Luis Iberico of Alianza para el Progreso and Raul Canelo of Partido Fonavista registered 1.08 and 0.96 percent, respectively. Source: andina.pe |
