Lima, sep. 14. domestic natural gas cumulative production reached 131.5 million cubic in january-august 2010, a 65.82 percent increase compared to the same period last year, perupetro reported monday. this year’s output expanded to meet the growing demand of energy sector and the liquefied natural gas plant operated by peru lng.
In august, the natural gas daily average output was 978,27 cubic feet, 25.88 percent higher compared to july, mainly thanks to operations at the peru lng-owned liquified natural gas plant. in terms of quantity, camisea's block 88 operated by pluspetrol peru corporation made the largest contribution (with 400,96 cubic feet daily) to the national production, followed by block 56 operated by the same company with 507,90 cubic feet.
