MAGALY SOLIER, ALTIPLANO AWARDED AT AVANCA FILM FESTIVAL IN PORTUGAL Solier received such prestigious award for her starring role in Altiplano, a Belgian-German-Dutch coproduction film, also awarded at the festival. Written and directed by Peter Brosens and Jessica Woodworth, Altiplano is formulated as a tale of two troubled women from opposite sides of the world, who become drawn together by chance over tragedies taking place in their respective lives.
It is a ravishingly shot environmental drama set in the High Andes of Peru. When a mysterious sickness afflicts a remote village, the superstitious inhabitants' fears turn to anger, which they direct against a team of European medics until one young woman learns the sinister truth about the source of the illness, to her own great cost. Altiplano offers the viewer the possibility to reflect on injustice, accountability, faith and redemption. Source: andina.pe
