PERU TO SUBMIT MARITIME DISPUTE REPLY IN NOVEMBER
Garcia Belaunde said he will meet with the Foreign Ministry's ad hoc advisory committee in September to review the Peru-Chile maritime delimitation dispute currently being heard by the International Court of Justice in The Hague. "We will submit the reply on November 11, we’re working on it and we’ll obviously do it on time," said Garcia Belaunde.
In September, the minister will hold meetings with the advisory committee and a team of lawyers hired by the Peruvian State. The 15-member advisory committee consists of Ambassador Javier Perez de Cuellar and legal experts Jorge Avendaño, Enrique Bernales, Roberto Mac Lean, Enrique Mendoza, and Anibal Quiroga, among other qualified professionals. The team of lawyers includes Eduardo Ferrero Costa, Vicente Ugarte del Pino and Roberto Mac Lean from Peru; as well as foreign experts Allain Pellet, Rodman Bundy, Vaughan Lowe, Scott Edmonds, among others.
